Privacy notice
Fieldcraft · version 0.1.0
This is the notice for the Fieldcraft app from the App Store and Google Play. The web version of the game shows its own notice inside the game.
This notice explains what the Fieldcraft game does with information when you play it in a web browser, as an installed web app, or as the app from the App Store or Google Play.
Test build. This build shows test ads and a test ad-free pass. Nothing is charged, and no ad network or app store is contacted.
The short version
- Your career is stored only on your device, in your browser's storage for this site.
- Your career is stored only on your device, in the app's own storage.
- Fieldcraft has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies.
- Fieldcraft has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking cookies. The test ads are drawn by the game itself: no ad is requested from anyone.
- The game does not send your career, your play or anything about you to us or to anyone else.
- Fieldcraft has no accounts, no analytics of its own and no tracking cookies. It never sends your career or your play to us.
- The free game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google receives device and ad information to show and measure them, as described below. The optional ad-free pass removes the ads.
- Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. RevenueCat verifies the ad-free pass for us.
What is stored on your device
The game keeps these items in your browser's local storage for this site, and nothing else (no cookies, and no session storage in this version):
The game keeps these items in the app's local storage on your device, and nothing else (no cookies, and no session storage in this version):
fieldcraft-squad-v1: your career (operators, facilities, items and progress).fieldcraft-squad-v1:operation: a checkpoint of an operation in progress, so it can resume after a reload.fieldcraft-squad-v1:before-restore: a safety copy of the previous career, kept after you restore a backup or delete a career.fieldcraft-ui-prefs-v1: your sound, motion and haptics settings.fieldcraft-errors-v1: the game's last 20 errors, if any (the error message and type, the game file and line, the screen, the time, the game version and how often it repeated), so you can choose to send them to support. It holds nothing about you.fieldcraft-commerce-v1: whether your ad-free pass is active as the store last confirmed it, when ads last showed (to keep them spaced), which optional bonuses you claimed, and a history of these events.fieldcraft-commerce-test-store-v1: the test build's stand-in for a store account.
When you install or reopen the game, your browser also keeps a copy of the game's own files so it works offline. None of these items leave your device.
The game's own files come inside the app, so it plays offline. None of these items leave your device; the ad network and the stores receive only what the Ads and Purchases sections below describe.
Deleting the career in Settings · Save starts a new career and keeps the deleted one on this device as a safety copy (fieldcraft-squad-v1:before-restore) until your next restore or delete. To remove everything, clear this site's data in your browser settings (or uninstall the installed app).To remove everything, uninstall the app or clear its data in your device settings. The ad-free pass is kept by your store account, so Restore purchases brings it back. That cannot be undone unless you downloaded a backup first (Settings · Save · Download backup).
Ads
Players without the ad-free pass see ads from Google AdMob: a full-screen ad between some operations, a banner on menu screens, and ads you choose to watch for an optional bonus. No ad shows during the tutorial or the first half hour and first operations of play, during an operation, or over a purchase. To show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier (on iPhone only if you allow tracking), IP address and the approximate location it indicates, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your choices before ads load; you can change them in Settings · Purchases · Ad privacy choices. On iPhone, Apple asks whether Fieldcraft may track you. Saying no changes nothing in the game: the same bonuses, the same prices.
Purchases
The ad-free pass is a monthly subscription sold by the App Store or Google Play, which handle payment and billing. RevenueCat, our subscription service, receives the store's receipt and an anonymous app user ID to confirm the pass is active; it does not receive your name or payment details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy. Manage or cancel the pass in your store account.
Network use
Settings · About and the error screen have a Send error report button. It opens your own email app with a message to support containing the error log above, the game's version and build, whether it is the web game or the iPhone or Android app, the size of the game window and your browser's identification string (the browser and its version, the operating system and, on Android, the device model). You can read and edit the email first. Nothing is sent unless you send it.
The app contacts Google AdMob for ads (unless you have the ad-free pass) and the App Store or Google Play and RevenueCat for purchases. It makes no other requests.
The game only downloads its own files from the site that hosts it. It makes no other network requests: no fonts, scripts or images are loaded from third parties. The web host that serves the files may record standard technical logs, such as IP address, time and the file requested, as every web server does.
Children
Fieldcraft does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
Fieldcraft is not directed to children under 13. Its ads are limited to content suitable for teens and are not set up for children.
Changes
If a later version adds online features such as accounts, cloud saves or chat, this notice will be updated before those features are switched on, and the game will tell you.
